Cheap Eats Review
This is classic Indian that doesn’t need all the bells and whistles of contemporary decor etc because they’ll win you over with simply delectable curries. Grab a creamy mango lassi $4.90 straight up — you’ll need it to quell the fire in do-piyja, chicken curry made with lots of onion, capsicum and mushrooms $15.90. Other less common curries beg to be tried, such as lamb nentara, a sweet-and-sour tamarind and yoghurt-based curry with chickpeas $17.90, and chicken kheema mutter (the chef’s pride and joy), a concoction of coconut, yoghurt, dates, tamarind and fresh coriander $17.90. A spot in this book is well earned and is nearly as dear to them as the restaurant’s appearance in the 2005 TV show The Alice. We’ll make sure we autograph a menu next time we’re in.
